Mt Cook flyaway - Memories for a lifetime

Sunday looks like a cracker day to fly in the Alps!

A great event, fly into a normally restricted airfield amongst natural wonder. Take an optional glacier landing flight. Lunch at the Hermitage!

We have a few planes lined up from Christchurch and the Cub from WL, for members to take, or take your own. It will require flying solo, but if you wish to passenger instead, I’m sure we can work it out!

We have to get authorisations in Friday morning, so please be quick!

Our friends at the Motueka Aero Club have invited everyone up for a get together. They will have a BBQ and some comps if you want to give them a go.

It's a great opportunity to go up to visit a vibrant airfield, see a beautiful part of our country and meet some fellow aviators.

Take the opportunity to hire a Club aircraft or fly your own aircraft to Motueka and join fellow CAC members and members of the Motueka Aero Club for a relaxed day of flying, friendly competitions, and great aviation banter.

We already have a few members keen to go. If you'd also like to come, either as a solo pilot or a passenger with another member, just talk to a Club Instructor or email Andreas. Departure time is planned for 9am.

Our lady of the sky, Piper Cub ZK-BNL, is having a birthday and we're celebrating it at the next Club Day at Rangiora on Sunday 11th October.

We're planning to do a display of BNL's history, as well as inviting as many Cubs from around the area to fly in and join us in the celebrations. We'll even have some cake to eat!

If you know of a local Cub pilot, please make sure to invite them to this Club Day.

There will be normal Club Day activities as well.
